Congressman Nick Begich Joins Alaska Delegation, DOT Secretary and NTSB Chair in Press Conference on Aviation Safety in Alaska

WASHINGTON, D.C. – February 12, 2025 – Yesterday, Congressman Nick Begich (R-AK) joined members of the Alaska Delegation, Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, and National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy for a press conference discussing the importance of aviation safety in Alaska in the aftermath of the tragic Bering Air accident on February 6.

During the press conference, Congressman Begich emphasized the importance of Congress identifying ways to make air transportation safer for Alaska. 

“We have the opportunity to make airline transportation safer in Alaska and throughout our nation. That is what we owe the people of Alaska,” said Congressman Begich. 

Congressman Begich is a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and Subcommittee on Aviation and will continue to work closely with Senator Murkowski and Senator Sullivan on critical aviation safety in Alaska.
